So Why Does It Feel Like You're Stuck?
You've been at this a while. You love your dog. You show up to class, you go to trials, you put in the time.
So why does it feel like you're stuck?
Maybe you're getting some Qs but you know there's more in there. Maybe your dog is brilliant at home and falls apart the second you walk into a trial. Maybe you're watching other teams improve and wondering what they're doing differently.
You've taken classes. You've watched videos. You've worked hard. And yet you're still dropping bars, still missing contacts, still leaving trials wondering what just happened out there.
Here's the thing — in most classes everyone runs the same course and gets the same feedback. Your specific challenges, your specific dog, your specific handling gaps? They don't really get addressed. You just show up, do your best, and hope something clicks.
That's not a you problem. That's a support problem.
Here's What Nobody Tells You
The Qs are just a byproduct.
When your training is clear, consistent, and built specifically for you and your dog — the Qs follow. They're not the goal. They're the evidence that something is working.
The handlers you watch and wonder about aren't more talented than you. They're not luckier. They have a process. They know what they're working on, why they're working on it, and what good progress looks like. And when something goes wrong at a trial — as it does sometimes — they know exactly what to go home and fix.
That's not a secret.
That's just good training with the right support behind it.
You don't need to run more courses. You don't need to watch more random videos. You don't need to sign up for another seminar and hope the presenter's style clicks with how your dog learns.
And here's something most new handlers don't discover until much later: the shortcuts that seem easier right now? They actually rob you of the best part.
You need someone in your corner who knows you, knows your dog, and shows up every single week with a plan.
That's Q-Lab.
Introducing Q-Lab
Q-Lab is a monthly coaching membership where you get personalized agility training built around you and your dog — every single week.
Not a course you buy and forget. Not a group class where your specific challenges get lost in the shuffle. Not a giant video library you don't know where to start in.
Q-Lab is real coaching, real feedback, and a real plan — delivered consistently so you actually make progress.
JOIN THE WAITLISTHere's how it works:
Every week you get a personalized training plan telling you exactly what to work on and how to work on it. You submit video of your training and get direct feedback on what you're doing well and what to adjust. You have access to a full library of step-by-step instructional videos AND raw training footage of multiple dogs at different levels working through the same skills — so you can see what it looks like in the real world, not just in a perfect demo.
The library is yours to explore at your own pace — but primarily I'm guiding you to exactly what you need to watch to address your specific challenges. No digging through content hoping you picked the right video. I'll point you there.
And once a month we get on a one-on-one video call — just you and me — to talk about your progress, your goals, and where we're headed next.
No waiting in line. No listening to someone else's problems for 45 minutes. Just focused, productive time on you and your dog.
This is what consistent improvement actually looks like.
Here's Everything You Get as a Q-Lab Member
Weekly Personalized Training Plans
Every week you get a plan built specifically for you and your dog. Not a generic exercise. Not the same thing everyone else is doing. A clear, focused plan that tells you exactly what to work on, how to set it up, and what to look for. No guesswork. No wondering if you're doing the right thing.
Video Reviews
Submit video of your training sessions and get direct, specific feedback. This is where the magic happens. Seeing yourself handle and watching how your dog responds — good and bad — is genuinely one of the fastest ways to improve. Most handlers have never really seen themselves work their dog. Once you do, you can't unsee it.
Step-by-Step Instructional Video Library
A complete library of training videos broken down into clear, logical steps. Every skill, every obstacle, every handling concept — built so you know exactly where you are and what comes next. And I'll guide you to exactly what you need based on what we're working on together.
Raw Training Video Archives
This isn't just polished demo footage. These are real training sessions with real dogs — fast dogs, timid dogs, overly confident dogs, dogs that got it right away and dogs that needed more time. So when your dog doesn't look like the demo dog, you can find one that does.
Monthly One-on-One Video Call
Once a month we get on a call — just you and me. No group. No waiting your turn. We talk about your progress, what's working, what needs to shift, and where we're headed. It keeps us both on track and makes sure your training has real direction and momentum.
Why This Works
There's a reason most online training doesn't stick. And it's not you.
Courses sit unfinished. Group programs get overwhelming. Video libraries collect dust. You start strong, life gets busy, your dog has an off week, and suddenly you haven't logged in for a month. Sound familiar? That's not a willpower problem. That's a structure problem.
You always know what to do next.
Every week a plan lands in your hands. No deciding, no second-guessing, no opening a giant library and closing it again because you don't know where to start. Just clear direction, every single week.
You can't fall off the wagon because I won't let you.
This is the part that makes Q-Lab different from everything else out there. I'm showing up every week. I'm watching your videos. I'm tracking your progress. If something isn't working I'm going to catch it early and we're going to fix it — before it becomes a bigger problem or a bad habit your dog has been practicing for months.
Your dog is not an afterthought.
Generic training assumes a generic dog. Your dog is not generic. Your dog has a specific personality, a specific set of strengths, specific quirks that show up on course. Your training should reflect that. In Q-Lab it does.
Video review changes everything.
Most handlers are working on feel. They think they're doing one thing and they're actually doing something completely different. Watching yourself on video — really watching, with coaching eyes pointing out what to look for — is genuinely eye opening. Handlers who commit to regular video review improve faster than almost anything else I've seen.
The monthly call keeps the big picture in focus.
Week to week training can get narrow. The monthly call zooms back out. Are you making the progress you wanted? Are your goals shifting? Is there something coming up at a trial we need to prepare for? That conversation keeps your training intentional and makes sure we're always moving in the right direction.
This is not a program you buy hoping it works.
This is a coaching relationship built around making sure it does.
Who Q-Lab Is For
Q-Lab is for handlers who are done just showing up and hoping for the best.
You might be brand new to agility and determined to build a solid foundation from the start. You might be a seasoned competitor who has hit a wall and knows something needs to change. You might be somewhere in the middle — getting some Qs, having some fun, but feeling like there's a whole other level you and your dog could reach if you just had the right support.
Whatever your experience level, if you're nodding along to any of this — Q-Lab is for you.
Q-Lab is for you if:
✓ You're tired of generic class training that doesn't address what's actually going on with your dog
✓ You've watched your dog nail it in practice and fall apart at a trial and you're done accepting that as just "how it is"
✓ You want to actually understand your training — not just follow instructions and hope something sticks
✓ You're ready to put in the work and you just need someone to show you exactly what that work should look like
✓ You want a coach who is genuinely invested in you and your dog — not just someone who shows up and collects a monthly fee
Q-Lab is NOT for you if:
✗ You're happy going to class once a week and seeing what happens
✗ You're not ready to submit video or be coached on your handling
✗ You're looking for a quick fix or a magic method that skips the real work
The only requirement to join Q-Lab is that you actually want to improve. Everything else we can work with.

Hi, I'm Heather.
I've been competing in dog agility for years and I still get nervous at trials. I still pump my fist when my dog hits a clean run. I still replay the mistakes in my head on the drive home. I tell you that because I want you to know I'm not coaching from a distance — I'm in it with you.
I compete at the highest levels of the sport, including representing the United States at the IFCS World Agility Championship. I've trained and competed with multiple dogs across multiple venues and I've learned something from every single one of them. My current partner Banner, my border collie, keeps me honest every single day.
I run Heather's Dog School in Corfu, NY where I've been coaching handlers of all levels for years. I've watched students go from their very first obstacle to their first Q to goals they didn't even know they had when they started. That never gets old. Not even a little bit.
What makes Q-Lab different starts with how I'm trained.
I'm a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner — one of the most rigorous certifications in the dog training world. That matters in agility more than most people realize.
Great agility training starts with being a great dog trainer. Understanding how dogs actually learn. Knowing how to read what a dog is telling you. Knowing how to break a skill down into steps small enough that the dog can succeed — and knowing which step broke down when something goes wrong.
Agility is a dog sport. The dog is half the team. When you work with a coach who deeply understands dog behavior and learning, your training stops being a guessing game and starts making sense. You're not just drilling courses — you're actually teaching your dog something. That foundation changes everything.
Here's what I want you to know about how I coach:
I don't believe in one size fits all training. I don't believe in gimmicks or shortcuts. I believe in building real skills in a logical order and trusting the process — because when you do the work right, the results follow.
But more than any method or philosophy, I believe in my students. I get genuinely attached to your progress. I know your dog's name. I know what you've been struggling with and what breakthrough you've been chasing. I celebrate your wins like they're my own — because honestly, they kind of are.
When you join Q-Lab you're not buying access to a video library. You're getting a coach who is fully invested in where you and your dog are headed.
I built Q-Lab because I wanted to offer everything I wished I could find — real personalized coaching, a structured library, video feedback, and someone who actually follows you through the process and doesn't let you get lost. I looked for it for years. I couldn't find it all in one place. So I built it.
I'm really glad you found it.

You've Been Looking for This.
Not just a course. Not just a video library. Not just a coach who shows up once and disappears. You've been looking for something that actually works — something that meets you where you are, knows your dog, and follows you all the way through.
That's Q-Lab.
Your dog is ready to be brilliant out there. The partnership you're imagining — the one where everything clicks, where you walk to the start line with confidence, where you actually understand each other — that's not a fantasy. That's what good training builds.
And the shortcuts that seem easier right now? They actually rob you of the best part.
You don't have to figure this out alone anymore.
