You’ve watched the youtube videos of agility and it looks like fun, but you don’t know if you should take a class, buy equipment or even what the first step should be!

Hey there! I'm Heather Adams

I coach you how to train your dog to move quickly and easily through the agility obstacles so you and your dog can have fun together.

I was once in your shoes, not knowing where to start, I had a tiny yard, no money or space for agility obstacles and ended up in a group class that was no good.  But that’s me standing on the podium in second place overall with my dog Star at a big AKC International Sweepstakes Class event called the Sugarfest Cup. ISC agility has really hard courses like you’d see at world level competitions!  It is SUPER fun and we've qualified to compete in two different world team tryouts coming up this year!

My start in agility was rocky. Like I said, my first dog Tucker and I ended up in a group class that was just chaos. It was a big class with lots of dogs and they all had to be kept on leash which made doing the obstacles really awkward as the leash got caught on obstacles or tangled in my dog’s legs. We were not taught any foundations, all the instructor had us do was take a go at the obstacles! We did learn a few things though and eventually decided to compete. Our first competition was a complete disaster! My dog ran all over the place and didn’t do half the obstacles…I was so embarrassed!

About that same time I was studying to become a professional dog trainer, so I took my newfound knowledge about how dogs learn and applied it to agility and figured out how to teach my dog all the concepts needed to perform the obstacles without actually owning any of them! It revolutionized my dog’s performance. 

Tucker and I went on to become one together on the agility course! He earned his AKC Masters title. Since then I’ve competed successfully with several dogs and in every agility venue available in the U.S. My current dog, Star, has earned 8 UKI International Agility Champion titles and is competitive at high level events like the Sugarcup I mentioned. It’s amazing what having a really good, solid, foundation in training will have on your entire future in dog agility. 

After I figured out how to teach all the right foundations to my own dogs, I started teaching it to my students. Over the years, I’ve taught hundreds of dog owners who’ve gone on to excel in competitions, which has also given me the opportunity to refine and perfect my methods to know exactly what dogs and their owners need to learn. I love watching my students excel right from the start, instead of struggling like I did in the beginning.

The last thing you need to get started is a chaotic group class. Your dog needs a quiet, calm environment where they can be off leash to learn best.

Sure, eventually you will want to join a group class to access the obstacles and work near other dogs.

BUT, it is NOT the best way to start.

The best agility competitors start training at home too. Why? Because certain foundation training must be done BEFORE you ever start obstacles for safety and for best training.

Foundations are fun! 

And this also creates a bond right from the start which benefits you later when your dog is running the obstacle course.

That's why I’ve created this program to provide you with all the most important foundation training you'll need to have THE BEST start!

There are 2 parts to foundations:

The first one includes teaching your dog how to perform obstacles that include over, under, around, through and walking on something.

The second part is teaching your dog on how to follow your body language and directing your dog where to go.

These foundations can be taught without having an elaborate obstacle course setup. You can do this at home.

If you want to have fun, it’s no fun without learning foundations first.

This is where you can immediately start learning EVERYTHING you'll need to know! 

Each module has at least 4 videos that are delivered every week so you can focus on one skill at a time, eliminating overwhelm.

Each short training video starts with an explanation of the what and why of a new skill. You'll see a demo of that skill on the agility course so it'll make sense why you are learning it.

Then you'll watch how I teach a dog that skill to a dog who has never done it before - then you'll try it with your dog.
